A New Course: From Sea to Shore at PRA Group

I’m excited to share that I’ve recently embarked on a new journey, joining PRA Group. This move comes after two incredible years as a Network Architect with Carnival Cruise Lines, where I had the unique opportunity to travel and work on cruise ships.

My Professional Voyage

My career in networking began at 16 with the Cisco Networking Academy, which truly set my course. Since then, I’ve held diverse IT roles, starting with running cables and assisting in computer labs, to working as a network technician for a navy contractor. I then spent 12 impactful years as a Network Engineer IV at Ferguson Enterprises, the nation’s largest plumbing wholesaler. There, I gained extensive experience managing a wide array of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, VPN head-ends, application load balancers, and wireless networks. I was also frequently called upon to troubleshoot complex network issues, which deepened my understanding of web, database, and, application servers.

Following my time at Ferguson, I joined Unisys as a Network Design Engineer for two years, where I worked with a dedicated customer. After that, I set sail with Carnival Cruise Lines. My time at sea as a Network Architect was an extraordinary experience, blending my passion for technology with unique travel opportunities.

Beyond the Circuit Board

Outside of work, I remain passionate about building gaming machines. I enjoy refurbishing older HP workstations and transforming them into powerful custom gaming rigs.

I’m looking forward to sharing insights from this new chapter and continuing my journey in the ever-evolving world of technology.
